Who Was Mariusz Lewandowski?

Mariusz Lewandowski, a Polish painter, created within the realms of surrealism and fantastical realism. His work stood out for its dark, melancholic atmosphere, blending symbolism, fantasy, and dreamlike visions. Drawing inspiration from both the real and metaphysical worlds, he produced highly detailed, symbol-rich masterpieces.

Lewandowski gained significant recognition through collaborations with metal bands, with his art featured on album covers for bands such as Bell Witch, Mizmor, and Psycroptic. His works, often depicting monumental landscapes, ethereal figures, and surreal scenes, delved into existential themes, the passage of time, and mystery.

While his art is uniquely his own, it aligns with the tradition of the Polish school of surrealism and magical realism, often compared to artists like Zdzisław Beksiński.
